Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other political leaders paid tribute to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia on his birth anniversary, recognizing his contributions as a freedom fighter, visionary leader, and champion of social justice.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi praised Lohia’s dedication to empowering the underprivileged and strengthening India. “A visionary leader, fierce freedom fighter, and an icon of social justice, he dedicated his life to empowering the underprivileged and building a strong India,” he posted.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also honored Lohia, calling him a great personality in India’s political and social history. “Lohia ji’s thoughts on women’s education, social equality, and political purity continue to inspire generations,” Shah said.
BJP President JP Nadda, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Kiren Rijiju, and several Chief Ministers, including Yogi Adityanath, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Vishnu Deo Sai, also paid their respects, highlighting Lohia’s contributions to social justice and the upliftment of marginalized communities.
Lohia, known for his Sapt Kranti (Seven Revolutions) doctrine, played a crucial role in India’s freedom struggle and later shaped socialist politics in the country. His ideals of equality, justice, and national integrity continue to inspire leaders across the political spectrum.
